Mechanical Print Finishing Operative

 

Working in our finishing department your primary role will be operating mechanical finishing machinery, responsible for maintenance, stock and operation of said machinery.

 

You will be working to tight deadlines following production lists, job ticket specifications and time allowed to do the jobs. You will be using a simple computerised production system for booking your work to.

 

Experience in the print industry, hand and mechanical finishing would be of benefit, but full training will be given. A full UK driving license is required.

 

You will be able to work as part of a team and on your own from time to time.

 

The job dictates flexibility and can be quite physical.

 

Responsibilities

 

  1. Operation and maintenance of multiple finishing machinery including Stahl folder, Polar guillotine, Horizon booklet maker, Encapsulation / lamination machine, Drill, Stitcher, Punch and Round Cornering machine plus many more hand finishing machines.

  2. Responsible for stock control of the mechanical finishing machine consumables.

  3. To make sure the jobs are produced correctly to job ticket specification and approved proof.

  4. To make sure the best possible quality is achieved.

  5. To maintain and adhere to the company process and procedures and suggest improvements where required.

  6. To communicate effectively.

  7. To make sure machinery is maintained to an operational standard.

  8. To make sure productive times set by the estimate are achieved or feedback where incorrect.

  9. To suggest and implement improvements where required.

  10. To log and promote the logging of company non-conformances.

  11. To train and aid in training where required.

  12. To work as part of a team.

  13. General cleaning up of work area.

  14. You may be required to work in other areas from time to time and as dictated by your line Manager / Supervisor.

 

Department: Finishing

 

Hours of work: 7.30am until 4.00pm with 30 minutes lunch, 5 days a week, overtime may be available where necessary.

 

Salary: Negotiable depending on experience.

 

Reports to: Adam Standen – Assistant Production manger

Commercial Project & Management Account Representative

 

LGDavis a busy print manufacturing business positioned in the south of Birmingham, offering both lithographic and digital printing services along with in house design capabilities, office products and print management & fulfilment to both private and public sector organisations across the UK

This internal role is working within our busy Customer Service Department this role entails various facets of project management and customer service. The right candidate will ideally be able to: -

  • Produce estimates using our industry MIS to agreed timescales and to an excellent standard, this is not a mandatory requirement, but would be preferred.

  • Service key accounts and build relationships

  • Have a commercial pricing awareness

  • Deliver outstanding project management, with a keen eye for detail

  • Have an expert focus on logistics to deliver end to end customer service and account management

 

Responsibilities

  • To give outstanding technical advice on printing methods

  • To consistently produce estimates to a high standard

  • Obtain competitive outsourced pricing

  • Servicing, building and maintaining relationships with key accounts

  • Effective project management

  • Commercial order processing

  • Proactive following up of estimates
